This Week In Analytics
On Instagram, my interactions are up by 187.3% compared to last week. Now overall, I have 40 comments and 179 likes across all of my five posts.
My Instagram hit 90 followers! I only need 10 more followers to be able to see more insight into my audience and learn about them which will be great for promotion purposes.
I had 327 profile visits on Instagram in the past week, with my reach being 283 accounts. My impressions overall stands at 1,535, which means how many times my content has been seen on people’s feed.
I have now had 62 views on my Linktree which was really unexpected, I was not expecting that much traffic on that page at all! People have clicked on the URLs there 45 times and the most popular link is my college portfolio with 11 clicks. Facebook is my second most popular link at eight clicks.
I have now hit 25 followers on TikTok which is a great start. Hopefully, if I carry on posting under the creator account, I can get some more reach to grow my account.
I also hit 25 likes on TikTok; I got eight likes on my post four days ago and it got 22 impressions. Overall, I have 147 impressions across all of my posts.
This Week’s Progress
This week, Paul and I (one of the graphic design tutors) created some drafts for my two singles’ cover art. I wanted to go for a minimalistic design that gets the point across easily and isn’t too overly complicated. I took inspiration from J. Cole’s cover art for his singles ‘False Prophets’ and ‘Everybody Dies’, and also from IDLES’ cover art for singles like ‘Model Village’ and ‘Grounds’. We went through some font designs for my name first in which I decided on impact and…… We then thought of some colour schemes to use; I thought of black and mustard yellow as they look great together, they are modern and fashionable right now and yellow is one of my favourite colours! As I don’t have any names for my tracks as of yet, we decided to just stick with Untitled 1 so we can change these later once I have the names. For the black cover, the title is in a copperplate font, and the title is in impact for the yellow one. I then thought of the idea to create a white border around both of the images to make the middle stand out more and make it look a little more interesting to look at. I also have the photoshop files which means I can work on the covers from home and start thinking of some more ideas for them.
I hadn’t realised that this was an option before making my TikTok account, but I noticed that you can change your account to a creator one. This means you get a badge on your account saying what the business is for (in my case it says ‘music’) and you get to see more about your audience once you hit 100 followers, like Instagram. From next week, I can start to see my general analytics like impressions, reach, interactions and profile visits however to start learning more about my audience, I need to hit the 100 follower milestone preferably. I think this will be quite difficult to reach on TikTok so if I don’t hit it I won’t be too bothered, however, it would help a bunch for promotion and getting a following before my music is released.
As well as this, I also came up with some ideas that I can use on my Instagram and TikTok for some interesting content that keeps the audience entertained and allows them to interact with me more. I thought of doing a QnA so people can ask questions and get to know me a little bit more. This is great to build up relationships with fans and your audience might find things in me that they could relate to. I also thought of doing some challenges on my socials; this might include me trying to make a song without hearing it or listening to it back or trying to make a beat in 5 minutes, for example. Your followers want the most interesting and unique content and I think this would be a great want to deliver this and grow my platforms. I also had a thought about making a song with followers. I would do this by asking my audience what I should do or put on the song and then have a go at adding this in. It would be a good idea to do this in parts on TikTok as doing series’ on TikTok is an excellent way to promote and keep your followers engaged with your social media.
In The Future, I Plan To:
-Grow my following more on TikTok by posting more often under the creator account and creating more interesting content for it.
-Reach 100 followers on Instagram so I can start to learn more about my audience.
-Start coming up with some more ideas for the single artwork like thinking of a name and other things I could put on the covers like textures or shadows etc.
