Performance risk case file (Michael Jackson Pepsi ad)

In 1984 Michael Jackson was hired to perform in a Pepsi ad, in the ad it was required for him to dance down the stage to the end where a pyrotechnics display was set to go off. However Michael Jackson accidentally got too close to the pyrotechnics causing hair and jacket to Catch fire, he was immediately rushed to hospital. However a eye witness said that the flames “shot extremely high” suggesting there was a fault in the machine.

This maybe could have been avoided if the pyrotechnics were highlighted and further away from the performer. But also all stage equipment should be tested before hand to make sure it isn’t faulty or broken.
