For my first assignment in college I chose to do a piece of music called dearly beloved reprise because it’s a very in iconic piece from one of my favourite video games . This piece of music is the theme to a video game called kingdom hearts 2. Reviewing the performance I have realised the tempo in which I played it In was far to fast compared to the original. I also realised I did it alot by memory when playing so to improve I could read the sheet music more to help me. At the very end of the musical piece there is a chord which I had missed in my recording. I also played a few segments of the music an octaveshigher than they should have been on the piano.
Those where some of the things I did wrong. However I did not do everything wrong, I played all of the correct notes and had the correct hand technique as well has finger positions. Next time when performing this piece to improve I could read the sheet music more instead of looking at my hands, as this would help me improve my sight reading and would stop my bad habit of guessing the notes and trying to work off of memory. I would also make sure I was playing it at the correct tempo because the wrong tempo can ruin the impact of the music.
