My band

During this first project at college we have been placed in bands which we will perform in at the end of the project, unlike last year where we performed in front of a camera, this year we will be preforming in front of a live audience. The songs set list we have all agreed on to perform is: You’ve got the love (Florence + the machine), Love on the brain (Rihanna), Transparent Soul (Willow Smith) and a swing arrangement of Seven nation army (White Stripes). During this project we must work very hard as a team to deliver a great performance, we must also market our selves as professional musicians with band Logo and a band name. The band members I am working with are: Tia, Abby, Lucy, Millie and Niall.

Band Presentation Strategy

During this project we have focused on presenting ourselves professionally as a band, we started working on our presentation with a band name. After some debate we all agreed upon the name Sunday chaos, this is because it is a fun and welcoming name which will grab the audiences attention. The names meaning is similar to Ying and Yang, this is because we are comparing the relaxed break we have on Sunday compared to the word chaos. In summary we are contrasting relaxation with chaos, this reflects on our music as we play rock songs such as Transparent soul as well as more relaxed songs such as Love on the brain.

Logo

This Logo was designed on photoshop by our drummer Abi, the ‘dark font’ was downloaded online and imported into photoshop. The red outline around the Black text is just another copy of the phrase “Sunday Chaos” but in red text, the outline was created by slightly un-aligning the text to create a drop shadow effect. The font size of the ‘S’ and ‘C’ were slightly enlarged to put emphasise on band names initials. To brand our band more we got rid of all the characters in the band name except for ‘S’ and ‘C’ to make our name more catchy to the eye. To reflect on the name of the Logo we added paint splatter effects on the Logo to make it seem more chaotic.
