Final Research Idea

For my final research idea I have decided to research how horror movies provokes emotions such as fear through the music and sound design. To research this I will be looking at topics such as instrumentation, music theory and examples of their use in horror movie scores and themes. This idea is relevant to the music industry because it will teach me techniques when it comes to composing music for horror movies which is a job in the film music industry. I will look at a variation of online sources which may include: Books, E-books, videos, audio and PDF files. I will reference Iconic horror movies and there themes such as: Jaws, Physco and Friday The 13th as these scores where very successful in frightening the audience and capturing the essence and theme of the film. Listed below are a few potential research sources that I may include in my essay for information on horror movie techniques and examples.
