Overall grade- satisfactory
context- satisfactory, I showed a good understanding of subject context which allowed me to make valid points and judgements. But my main weaknesses when coming to context was further developing my points with more detail. Which causes weaknesses in my judgments. To improve I should have included more detail to show a better understanding of the subject.
research- satisfactory, I managed to investigate various sources and included evidence of my understanding. However to improve I must use more detail and information to develop ideas. In my research I included links to websites and videos I have mentioned, which acts as proof and is more professional when it comes to embedding links in websites. To improve I should use the oxford research technique to get a higher grade.
practical skills- satisfactory, I executed the songs on a satisfactory level, by that I mean I played by the book and used little of my own creativity during the performance. I used taught techniques which was good as it made me understand the instrument more. However I made many mistakes during the performance and my own interpretation of the music should be implemented next time. However I did use play whole notes in the 2nd songs bridge which was showed the ability to develop basic musical ideas. However my lack of understanding and skill on the instrument could be forgiven as it was my first time picking it up.
evaluation and reflection-Good, was able to honestly explore my strengths and weaknesses and showed good decision making skills regarding the band and independent work and practical skill management. However I could include more detail on technical music themes that I should improve on such as timing, dynamics and more detail on stage communication. I did my own reflections based on videos that I had embedded into the website, unfortunately one practice wasn’t recorded which had to be done by memory which may have negatively effected me. I re watched the footage many times to ensure a reliable evaluation, which was a good strength in my reflections.
