Self Assessment
This project has been fun yet challenging for me, as this was my first time actually writing a song. I believe that my practical skills were not as good as they were in previous projects. This is because I never got to implement my role as producer in the final mix of the song. However I was often covering different roles such as lyricist because of the pupil absences we unfortunately often had. But I am satisfied with the recording of the song, a side from the bad quality and 4 second count in at the start. My research and context during this project has been limit and lacks in quantity, but for the work I did do on context and research I did in good detail. One of my biggest mistakes this project was not saving audio files to show my development in song writing, this will affect me and has to be done in my final project. I did not have time to do Harvard referencing which means I need to organise my self better next time so that it gets done. There has been a lot of information I have written down through knowledge of tutors or my own knowledge such as details on artists or albums that I have not referenced to my self. So the one thing that let me down the most was my organisation, because this brought down my time management and effected quantity and quality of work. I will use my mistakes to improve for my next project.
In my next project I will do Harvard referencing for each page I complete so that I don’t forget it later, this includes crediting images. I will also do weekly developments on my digital space each week, I will say what I’ve done, my future ideas and what I might change. I can document this through the digital space, audio or video logs. I also research through different online sources a side from web pages, these include things such as; books, videos, posts and other things from people, preferably the artist I am studying. At the start of my project I will take note of all possible routes I can take for research and dive into them in great detail and provide a lot of contextual research through online study. I will also make a time schedule so that I don’t fall behind.
