A omni directional mic allows for 360 recording for a greater sound quality. These are also usefull for the studio if there is a large amount of istrments that need to be recorded for the project

figure eght microphones are placed in a way where there are two microphones to allow for a stronger sound this was used on nervans nvermind album and gave the album a more powerfull drum sound these mics are also good for recording distant sound as all of the soud can be easly picked up and can be used to make a really strong final mix for a recording
dynamcs
a dynamic microphone is great for recording woth differant volumes as they can easly pick up a larger range of frequancys and will make for a more crisp sound for greater profeshnality
For my project
for my project i will use mainly dynamic mis to allow me to gain a larger spectrum for sounds for my library of sound that im planning to create i dont think i will use figure eghit becuse it is good for an extra part for a mix the mixing side of this will be less important due to the spliceing together in a editing softwere as volumes can be ajusted in the softwere after eq is done I will also use omni directional mics to give a greater sound this quality and profeshonality and the omni directionality of this will be usefull for this
