My original SMART targets
the main thing that I want to improve is my high notes and sustain in the higher register this can be achieved by using head voice with expansion of chest voce and an easier switch between the two I can show my progress with both recording notes within a distance in time this is a relevant target because its good to have more vernation within singing to widen the horizon of projects you can do and increasing the limits of my voice I would like to try and achieve this target by the start of the next year and keep improving it in time
another area that I could improve is projection on of the ways to improve vocal projection is though greater breath control this can be done by having more room for resonance in vocal structures and structures that can be used to improve the sound quality I would like to work on techniques like belting for greater power this is something I can test by recording my voice from different distances and testing if they are the same this can show improvement over time if done correctly I would like to try to achieve this goal by the end of the 3rd project studio technique’s
I would like to improve my recording skills I will do this by experimenting with different ways of recording like compressed audio files I think this is achievable because most professional tasks can be rerecorded or can have the file made clearer this winds in to production i would like to try and achieve this target before the end of the cause
my review of the target outcome
I think i have achieved this target. I have achieved greater sustain and power in my higher register. Another way i think i have achieved this is by learning how to use my diaphragm to support my singing technique. I have also futtered my insight on things like head voice, chest voice and falsetto. I have also improved my projection. I did this with vocal exercises like my distance method. (singing in a way where its the equivalent to trying to communicate with someone over a far distance.)
Recording and D.A.W skills
I have also improved my recording skills. I have done this by looking at different microphones and recording techniques. I also have learned logic and Ableton skills. I have learned how to make a drumlines in both software’s and I have also learned how to add instruments and how the different effects and systems work like mastering and mixing. This will be useful for my final major project as for this project i would like to do sound design and video game music this will require a D.A.W to make the track. I also have learned how to create speculated sounds with effects like reverb, tremolo, flinger. Mainly this is important for composition and production.
Gear/tech improvements
I now know what terms like DI mean and have an understanding of laitency and signaling. This may be usefull for my thurtherstudies or for my final major project. I have also learned the importance of safety in the music industry. With things like the use need to tape down wires in both a live and rehursal settings. This also applies to manual handleing of heavy objects. This is heavly valuable for the safety of proformers and the audance.
