this is my initial assessment page for level 3 extended to establish where I am for the year.
I think that my drumming could have been so much better if I’d have played along to a track so I could show I could keep tempo instead of noodling on the drums and making lots of mistakes. This would have been provented if I hadn’t of fallen behind on my work on the course.
I do believe that it isn’t my best work but it could have gone worse due to the fact I can play a beat in the pocket in time and hold it consistently which I do believe some parts of the video do show.
for the second video I wanted to play something more Tom’s related to show my skills with moving around the kit and keeping within the pocket on other drums instead of just kick and snare. Thus also could have been better if I had spent more time on it instead of rushing it but I didn’t have time as I took to long deciding on what I wanted to play.
I believe it could have been better if I hadn’t of messed up half way through and given in to the pain in my arm hence why the video is a short and not the full version.
overall I think I got a pass on my initial assessment due to being able to play the drums at a decent level to be able to play in a band and playing in time consistently and within the pocket
