I think one of my strengths is playing simple but affective grooves on the drum kit that work well with songs that I’m writing and add to the piece. ab weakness of this though is my dynamic control due to me wanting to play loud but knowing I need to be quieter in some parts on the song.

Another strength would be my guitar playing when writing songs because I can come up with simple catchy riffs that I can develop into full songs like the one above. A weakness of this though is I’m not very good at writing lead parts and need help to come up with ideas.

I ran into a lot of issues when recording this project due to me not being able to play consistently with the metronome in the recording session but being able to play constantly outside of it, this way because my nerves kept getting to me whilst recording putting me off. I also ran into a few issues whilst recording the guitar like sometimes hitting the wrong note on the fretboard and throwing myself off, leading to me falling out of time. I eventually managed to get it recorded though.

I could improve this in the future by practicing recording techniques and just practicing recording in a whole to make sure I have more confidence whilst recording.

I can also improve on the drums by listening to what my drum tutor, Simon, says during our lessons and practicing with accuracy instead of rushing trying to learn everything all at once.

what I enjoyed most about this project was re learning the song due to the fact it was fun to step back into a past project I started and make it a reality that I can call finished and be proud of.

what I disliked most about the project was mixing because I don’t fully understand how the software that we use works yet and I get confused with it easily so I have to ask for help a lot, it is also very tedious to get all the levels of everything perfect
