This page is to show my progression of re-learning my alternative rock song for re-recording for my final project.
The positives of the video are that I can play the rhythm guitar smoothly and I can come back into the rhythm guitar smoothly from the end of the first lead part of the song.
Some areas that I need to improve on would be the change over from playing the rhythm to lead within the song to make it more fluid because I messed up within the recording.
I can improve with this by practicing the change from rhythm to lead more to make the transition smoother for my recording.
The positives from the video are I learnt the first part to the second lead for the song so I could practice transitioning from the rhythm guitar to the lead.
Some areas I need to Improve are being able to play the lead all the way through and playing it fluidly instead of making petty mistakes.
I can improve this by practicing playing the lead parts all the way through then adding in the rhythm and getting it all the way through smoothly for my recording.
The positives in the video are being able to play in time with my song on drums and keep a rhythm going throughout the whole song.
Some areas I need to improve are my professionalism whilst recording and making sure not to swear in the videos and my dynamic control.
I can improve these by being mindful I am on camera and trying different volume ranges throughout the song.
The positives of the rehearsal are that I can play in time with the track and have decent control round the drum kit.
I need to improve on my capability of not being easily distracted when I mess up the track and start playing something else completely.
I can improve this by practicing more frequently to make sure I don’t make as many mistakes and keeping on task with the work at hand
The positives from the rehearsal session are that I can play along to my track in time at tempo with good dynamic control and fluidity around the kit.
The things I need to improve on are my attention span whilst rehearsing and not getting distracted when I mess up.
I can improve this by staying focused during rehearsal and having time to noodle after or before the rehearsal session to keep me motivated when I play.
The positives of the rehearsal session are that I am able to stay in time with the track and add little ride taps throughout the track to add texture to a simple drum beat.
Some areas I need to improve are my fills and making sure the ride taps are on beat with the track to keep it in time.
I can improve this by making sure to count the bars in my head to make sure the ride taps are in beat and my fills line up where the first bar starts.
The positives of the rehearsal are that I can play in time with the guitar and make sure to keep on tempo and not to rush or fall behind.
The things I need to improve on are my fills due to me not knowing what fills to put where and not being able to play them fluidly with the guitar.
I can improve this by practicing my fills throughout the song and finding out which one fits where.
