We used the original track for Outkast’s version of Ms. Jackson for inspiration of our cover because we have two rappers and a singer in our band who use the same vocal range as the original vocalist. it also made it easier to piece the song together working with the original because we wanted to get it quite similar to the original when preforming it.
We used the original song of Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home because it fit into the style of what everyone could perform and the vocalists fit well with the original. It also made it easier for me to learn the piano parts due to listening to them in the original.
We also used the original song for Florence and the Machine because our singer Lainnie’s vocal range matches the song due to her being able to sing in the same key as the original. We added a guitar part to the song though because the original is played on ukulele and harp.
