Project 1- Event Production

The aim for this project is “to coordinate a live musical performance, contributing towards the performance and management of the event. You must design, plan, promote and execute the event effectively.”

I Have been assigned the event role of the event manager/ director. The aim of this role is to; plan, organise, execute a succesfull event.

What is event production?

event production is the technical and creative collaboration to exacute an event. Its crutial to balance factors such as sound, lighting, design and video to contoll the atmosphere and mood of the event. On a lower budget we will face the challange of many design choises being constant factors, so its important to be versitile on other factors (lights, video) to keep people intrested for the duration of the event.

what is an event manager/ director?

An event manager/ director, plans , organises and exacutes an event by managing logistics (managing the flow of resrouces, infomation and materials), bugets and marketing. Event managers focus on strategy, high level decisions, and client relasionships whereas event managers focus more on the day to day operations.

what makes a succesfull event manager/ director?

Garrison Wynn once said “Both action and adaptability working side by side creates opportunity”. I take this to mean that i will need to be versitile in this role and step up where i neeed to. I will need to bring keep propper comunication with every one els on this project and insure all our end goals remain in the saim vein. To make sure everyone is on track its important to be freindly yet assertive because evry one has ideas but its important that we all remain on track.

Time managment is also of up most importance. Part of this is learning when to deligate and when to see things through yourself. its important to keep a plan of whats happening and when
