Project 1 – Live Practice

Breakfast At Tiffanys :

12th September –

One way we can improve as a group is adding more shifts in dynamics and texture to preform a more interesting performance and where the audience won’t get bored. The drums going quieter at points will also create a nice shift in texture witch will sound refreshing as it contrasts the rest of the song.

On the guitar I could add a more interesting rhythm and add more accents to different part of the song to differentiate the verses from the choruses because right now the guitar is very similar throughout with lacks interest. I am also slightly rushing set points so I need to practice more at the right speed.

Save Tonight –

12th September

One way that we could improve as a group is by adding more shifts in dynamics and texture witch is one aria we are weak on as a whole. We could do this by adding keyboard only in the chorus swell as adding the guitar solo/ instrumental as well as the quiet guitar and vocals after the instrumental.

A thing I could improve on is starting the guitar chords more short and partially palm muted and then open them up in the chorus to add tension and release. I could also increase my power, dynamics and change my strumming pattern slightly in the chorus to show a clear change between them and make the song as a whole more interesting when we preform it.

Mock performance:

Things to work on:

Timing as a group is off at times witch can cause instruments to continue playing in the wrong time or play the completely wrong section.

Throughout Breakfast At Tiffanys my guitar rhythm is still not right. To correct this I need to make my wrist movements more fluent and more in up and down movements to help me keep my rhythm stable throughout the set.

Another thing i could improve on is investing in a tuning pedal or bringing another guitar to avoid long, quiet pauses in between songs when i need to down tune.

I believe i did well with my stage presence but i could improve more by making more eye contact with the audience and communicating with the band more. This will show confidence to the audience and make the performers and the audience members more relaxed during preforming.
