  • Book support acts / DJ / host / MC
  • Organize transport (gear, band members, crew)
  • Confirm load-in time and soundcheck schedule
  • Check venue’s insurance and liability coverage

📣 2. Promotion & Marketing

  • Create Halloween-themed poster/flyer
  • Design social media promo images (with spooky branding)
  • Set up Facebook Event / Eventbrite / ticket links
  • Post countdowns on socials (2 weeks before, then daily leading up)
  • Engage audience with costume contest teaser or spooky reels
  • Email newsletter blast (if you have a mailing list)
  • Local press/radio/podcast shoutouts (if relevant)

🧛 3. Costumes & Theming

  • Plan your costume (band-wide theme? individual? makeup?)
  • Encourage audience costumes (optional prize?)
  • Organize stage decor (spiders, fog machine, pumpkins, skulls, etc.)
  • Buy props for band (fake blood, fangs, cloaks, witch hats)
  • Halloween-themed visuals for projectors or backdrop (if using)

🎤 4. Performance-Specific

  • Rehearse Halloween covers or intros (e.g. Thriller, Ghostbusters)
  • Halloween stage banter or themed skits
  • Create themed setlist printouts (use fun Halloween fonts)
  • Bring spares (guitar strings, cables, sticks, batteries)
  • Charge in-ear monitors / wireless units / pedals

🎁 5. Merch & Audience Engagement

  • Halloween-exclusive merch? (limited shirts, spooky art, etc.)
  • Decorate merch table (fake cobwebs, skull candy jar)
  • Set up tip jar (make it a cauldron!)
  • Plan a costume contest or spooky giveaway
  • Bring a Polaroid or photo booth props (for fan pics!)

🧯 6. Safety & Emergency Prep

  • First aid kit
  • Fire extinguisher / safety checks (especially if using candles/fog)
  • Contact numbers for venue manager, sound tech, etc.
  • Backup USB or drive with setlist or visuals
  • Pack snacks, water, painkillers, extra phone chargers

📦 7. Packing List (Night Of)

  • Instruments & gear (guitar, pedals, keyboard, mic, etc.)
  • Costume + spares (makeup, wipes, backup outfit)
  • Printed setlists (tape to stage or monitors)
  • Merch items & float for cash sales
  • Signage (for doors, merch, contests)
  • Decorations (if DIYing the venue)
  • Drinks & snacks for backstage / green room
  • Fog machine / projector / lighting (if bringing your own)

🧹 8. Post-Gig

  • Collect all gear & decor
  • Settle payment with venue
  • Post thank-you + photos/videos on socials
  • Follow up with fans or mailing list
  • Debrief with band/team (what went well, what to improve)
