Breakfast at Tiffany’s:

Deep Blue Something was formed in 1993 in Texas witch included 4 members, Todd Pipes (vocals and bass), his brother Toby pipes (vocals and lead guitar), Kirk Tatom (guitar and backing vocals), Clay Bergus (guitar and backing vocals), and john kirtland. the band became successful in the 90s partially due to there hit single breakfast at Tiffany’s witch made the top 10 charts because of its catchy melody and memorable lyrics.

The songs was inspired by the 60s film Breakfast at Tiffany’s and it has been said it was written because the films theme of love and relationships connected to the band. The mention of the film worked as a metaphor for shared cultural experiences between people. In modern days the song brings people back to the 90s. this is good because the large majority of the audience are parents and other people who have lived through the 90s.

This shows us that we should emphasize the longing and nostalgia in our playing. one way we could do this apart from just adding more feel is by being softer in the verses and louder in the choruses.

How You Remind Me:

Nickleback was formed in the mid 90s in Canada by the brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger along with Ryan Peake and Brandon Kroeger. The album “silver side up” witch features How You Remind Me got them into the main stream music scene of the early naughtys.

The song was based on the lead singers frustration with relationships with lyrics involving love and the complexity of relationships. Apparently is was written in 30 minutes and has been nominated for a Grammy. The connection between the dates and themes of all the songs are similar so its like the type of performance that would happen in the early 2000s.
