Concept and artist development

Due to my project proposal focusing on the production, release, and marketing. I decided to record songs already written. however, due to my low attention span I realised I never fully finished writing a song.

To come up with Idas of what I wanted my songs to be I went through old voice memos I recorded of song ideas, and old videos of guitar riffs, chords and pattens I came up with. I also took inspiration in the genre of many artists I listen to.

Inspirations:

Music relies heavlivley on taking inspiration from other peoples work. In this project I am taking inspiration from genre many of my favourite artists songs are in, which is pop. I like the genre because It is very broad and provides a platform for indavissuals to express any feelings or ideas they may have, while having the freedom to produce original sounding music to mach.

Target audience:

My target audience is any one who’s younger who have grown up trying to hide certain parts of them selves from the people closest to them, and who are, have or want to explore who they are.

I want my lyrics to connect to people who have struggled with self expression due to other peoples narrow views on sexuality and anything else that makes them a special individual.

Initial Idea-:

On song number one, I wrote it after a night out, where I wasn’t drinking but was also heartbroken over a situation-ship where we both became detached. I met a previous “partner” from a couple weeks prior and said some cruel things which I shouldn’t off said. I got home latter on and wrote a song which I felt reflected how I felt at that moment. Lyrically the song represents more than just that one person but the fear of loosing ones self more and more after each partner, which causes early detachment and the formation of an emotional shield after small issues arise.

When writing this song, the early concept wasn’t to record or work further on this song because its very vulnerable emotionally, but taking inspiration from many artists I admire like Conan gray and Olivia Rodrigo I like the idea of exploring the concept.
