This is my photoshopped recreation of the movie slender man. I took a background image of a dark forest then I took a cartoon illustration of slender man that I felt fit the edit well. I then added a lens flare and angled it to the green light in the background to merge the layers together and make it look like slender-man is interacting with the light. I then added a log-line; movie title and a star rating that reflected the movies average ratings. finally I added another work of the director above the title.
A quick reflection on my skills is that they are improving but there is always something more I can learn. I feel like I’m going at a comfortable pace in my learning criteria.
I have also uploaded my end credits for splicer on teams.
This is my movie poster idea I added a picture from one of the main settings in the short film by taking a picture with my phone and importing it into photoshop. I then added the movie title ‘splicer’ and chose a font that I felt best fit the film I did this by taking the killers weapon into account and chose a font that was sleek and looked sharp, like a knife. I then made up a longline under the movie title because I wasn’t 100% sure of what the official longline was. I then added ‘from the director Numaan’ I would have wrote “from the director that brought you so and so” but as Numaan does not have any past work I had to write it like I did. I then added the actors minus one being josh because I wasn’t sure what his name was at the time I made this, however I did add the two main student actors and the killers actor and placed the killers name in the middle to suggest that he is the killer. further more I added a star rating that I just used for as an example because the short film does not have a review to refer to. I then tried to best meet the four shading of red to draw a pool of blood to the floor for more effect.
After taking part in making this short film(splicer) I have learned practical skills, things such as how to use the camera; how long a scene can take to shoot and most of all how much patience it takes to work in a production team. from creative differences to disagreements with the dialogue and the actors performances. I have learned how to let people get on with what they’re doing whether I think it’s wrong or not. I have vastly improved in my knowledge of the software used in all points of production. I have learned how to cut scenes together and add third party sounds. I had also learned how to make a title and end credit sequence.
This is another poster I made after some feed back from my previous one. My previous font has been changed because it was compared to a wedding invitation font. I changed the pool of blood to look a little bit better because I thought it looked ridiculous. I then added a credits like paragraph at the bottom. In my previous poster I forgot to put an age rating certificate so I added a 15 age rating to this one. This is two of my movie posters compared through photoshopping them into an instagram templated image. I used the transform tool to scale the image small enough and then I used the distort tool to fit it over the images that were originally there.
