Project 3 Evaluation

CV/Cover Letter

For the first task I cant say I struggled as I was just talking about how much I have progressed in music and how well I fit for the job role put on teams. I would say the cover letter was the hardest out of the two because you really had to see what your strengths are and dig into most of the work/gigs you have done in the past. I do think this task was useful as I now have experience building a music CV and now have an idea on what it is supposed to look like and the things I am supposed to talk about.

What Went Well?

I could confidently and proudly talk about my past work as a musician and the experience I have gained in the different fields of music. I got this task done in like the first 3 days of knowing about it which was great as it let me get ahead on some of my other tasks.

What Went Wrong?

I do feel although I talked a nice amount of my past I could of talked a little bit more in depth about the gigs and the set up of events looking back I know I could add to it. As soon as I finished this task I didn’t really look back at it much to edit it or see if I could add more detail which I think is a little bit stupid ut oh well.

What Can I Do to Improve?

I can write some practice CVs for when the time comes when I do need a music portfolio for whatever reason. I can also keep building up my experience and opportunities so I can wright more about them and fill my CV up with good employable experience.

Strengths and Skills

It felt good to be able to write more than just about guitar playing, the last time I did a strengths and skills page all I could do was play guitar. I never gave singing and other instruments a chance coz I was set on improving my guitar playing which is not a bad thing but it does feel good to be able to talk about songwriting, bass and other things instead of just one thing. I definitely wrote this task in confidence and I aim to have more to put in the next time I have a strengths and skills page to do.

What Went Well?

I could confidently list plenty of different things that I have experience with now. I am currently learning how to play bass and sing so it was good to be able to write that down and I look foward to more things to add. This task was completed within 2 days after knowing we had it to do.

What Went Wrong?

I feel I could have listed a few more technical terms and especially with the guitar as I have a nice bit of experience with it now. I didn’t really talk about techniques or new styles I have been learning.

What Can I Do To Improve?

Look more into the things that I am learning so I can properly describe my ability when the time comes. And next time do not only look at the music side of things, I know I can help and have helped on plenty of different occasions setting up a gig, speakers, amps, microphones and every thing you might need for the gig.
