Initial Assessment Review
I remember writing about this video, I remember struggling to get the hang of the chord changes on major 7 chords and weird looking Ab major chord. I used to be really slow and it made my overall playing sound really sloppy with delayed changes and slowed timings which impacted a lot of my playing when it came to this style. Now I can confidently switch between the chords without struggle and can now sing and play while using this chords while keeping the timing and overall flow of the song. Since learning more about these chords and the different ways you can use them I now like to write songs using these chords along with other fitting chords with a range from basic to complex with ease. From the first project to now I feel I have improved massively with my playing I feel I am far more fluent and confident with not only playing but writing as well.
- Can now sing with microphone without being too worried
- Can play and sing at the same time even with strange strumming patterns
^the gigs for example.
- I can now tricky finger style guitar pieces
- I can now improvise so much better with better scale and theory knowledge
- I can now move around the fretboard much quicker during solos or lead parts to songs which is helpful for higher difficulty songs.
- One thing I really want to learn and improve on is spanish flamenco guitar style, Ive seen some crazy strumming patterns and a lot of percussion and it all looks really controlled so I am gonna work towards this next.
I remember finding this song quite easy to play whilst recording it, I didn’t mess up too much but there are some points and the chords and lead sections where my timing isn’t spot on with the original which makes it sound a lot messier than it did at the start. The good thing is I played the whole song and it is a good example of consistency o at least it was back then. Now my timing would be better especially on the lead parts as I am quicker and smoother now with lead sections and chord changes.
