What is community music?
I would say community music is making music to be inclusive to a wide range of audiences that sometimes aren’t considered in music shows like little children, the older generation and many different diverse groups that may find it hard to go to mainstream shows with thousands and thousands of people. Most of the events are normally trying to bring a focus to the benefits of wellbeing, inclusion and connection instead of just the performance.(this can be political as well)
We could perform community music for public spaces like Bradford Market on Darley Street, the market has a stage/ place of performance where small community bands and musicians can play their music and play covers to match if their just performing or trying to spread a message or getting people involved, either way just performing for the community. Another good place for a community music project would be a care home in Keighley. If I choose Bradford market i would choose acoustic songs with a emotional but calm feel for the public who will either be watching or shopping. I feel it would provide a calming environment for people to enjoy.
