Job summary

Working on QM Records in Bradford assisting on executing music events and music releases.

Working remotely, providing admin support for MOVES Festival, Bradford to take place in June 2023.

Also working on other music events in Bradford in 2023.

Assisting on music releases (PR, Social Media, Playlisting), Events (Working closely with acts and venues).

Liaising with current brand partners, venue partners, community partners.

Researching and connecting with future  partners.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

Looking for an ambitious individual based in the Bradford area. No experience needed,

all training will be provided. This person must be a proactive person with good attention to details.

This candidate must be very good at multitasking and cool under pressure.

They must have good communication skills with both members of the team and external contacts.

Must be extremely organised and not afraid to take initiative.

They must be friendly and approachable and remain calm when faced with competing demands.

They should be able to deal with the ebbs and flows of the work patterns. They must be able to commit to work tasks, take ownership of their own work, but also be able to ask for help when it’s needed,  and listen to and take direction. They must have an interest in working in music / creative industries. They must show sensitivity in working with vulnerable people and have a commitment to equality and inclusivity.

For 15-18 year olds – exciting creative opportunity to produce an event! DEADLINE 30th JAN!

Run by the award-winning ORA Singers, the programme will see 10 ‘Young Composers’ each receive 10 hours of free one-to-one mentoring from professional composers, who will help them write a brand new choral piece to be performed and recorded by ORA Singers in concert. Halfway through the scheme, Young Composers also get to join ORA Singers for a Workshop, where they’ll be able to hear their ideas and sketches sung by professionals, who will offer specialist tips and advice along with a Guest Composer.

The programme comes to a close with the Final Concert, where the Young Composers have their completed pieces performed by ORA Singers in front of a live audience and a panel of industry experts at the world-famous Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester. Young Composers receive a video recording of the performance to kick-start their portfolios, and are given feedback from the panel. Previous panels have included Stephen Fry, John Rutter, Katie Tearle, Gareth Malone, Susanna Eastburn, Donna McKevitt, and several others.

This year, the scheme will also be welcoming 40 ‘Apprentices’. The Apprentice route runs alongside the Young Composers’, and will see our Apprentices gain first-class coaching in composition through 8 in-depth, online Workshops, free of charge. Apprentices will fast-track their compositional development, and will also gain invaluable insight into the world of professional composition by hearing from experts in the industry.

Opportunity:

• Volunteering at the Yorkshire Games Festival Family Weekend on the 4^th and 5^th February 2023 at the National Science and Media Museum.
• Students MUST be OVER 18 at the time of the event.
• A pre-volunteering meeting will be held for interested students to go through all the information needed.
• Volunteering will go towards Work Experience Hours.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with Brighter Sound to host a once-in-a-lifetime music residency led by award-winning and critically acclaimed saxophonist and composer, Nubya Garcia.

Emerging artists can now apply to work with Nubya over four days, with a live performance on the final evening. During the week, Nubya will share her experiences and knowledge of playing live, touring, releasing music, and much more.

The residency will take place in Bradford between 27th-30th March 2023, with online workshops before and after. 

Applications are now open until 11pm on Monday 30 January 2023.

A Week with Nubya Garcia is open to women and people of marginalised genders as part of the All Things Equal initiative. To support the Northern music scene, priority will be given to artists based in Bradford, and the North of England.

About the opportunity

We have funding, mentoring and workshops available to back ten people, aged between 18 and 25, to put on a live music event in the Bradford area. All you need is the passion to try, no experience necessary.

Maybe you love a type of music and you’d like to see it live in a venue near you, or perhaps you think there should be more gigs for under-18s, or it might be that you wish you could see some of the artists you follow online play in real life. Well, you could make this happen with the support of our team and the Youth Music Incubator Fund.

The offer:

• £1000 to pay for your time working on the project
• £1000 budget to pay for the event costs
• Two group workshops to learn from industry professional
• Links with other successful applicants for peer support
• Support from start to end from our team who have years of experience working in events

• 2^nd November – English paper 2
• 3^rd November – Maths paper 2
• 7^th November – Maths paper 3

Grants of £500 – £1500 for young creative people to start up new ideas that will make a difference in the community.
