Bradford Council is excited to launch a new Music Network for Bradford, supported by Bradford Producing Hub and Music Local.

Guiding the network, and supporting development of Bradford’s music sector, will be a steering group that will work with Bradford Council, Bradford Producing Hub and other local and national organisations to create new opportunities for the region and promote the amazing music stories from the District, with support from a new Music Instigator & Music Local.

This group will be limited in number, and be made up of those who can collaboratively represent the wide and diverse experiences of Bradford’s music sectors, from local grassroots through to those having a major impact on the regional and national music scene.

We are actively welcoming candidates who are currently under-represented in traditional arts decision making: anyone with a Black, Asian or ethnically diverse background, who self-identifies as LGBTQIA+, young people, is from lower socio-economic backgrounds and/or self-identifies as disabled.

Having worked with a range of local musicians, producers and music organisations to launch this initiative, we are now looking for anyone who is interested in joining the steering group to apply by sending us a written or video submission

The deadline for submissions will be 5pm, Friday 18th December.

At present, the expectation is for the steering group to meet every 2 months in an online format. The steering group is voluntary and unpaid, but where there are financial or access barriers to engagement, this will be addressed to ensure the Steering Group is inclusive and representative of the sectors.

The steering group will be selected by representatives from Bradford Council, Bradford Producing Hub, Music Local and a representative from a similar representative music body in the UK.

For further information, or questions related to the formation of the steering group, please email [email protected]

The Bradford Music Network and its Steering Group is being established have been convened by Bradford Council, and will be supported by Music Local and Bradford Producing Hub, as well as the newly recruited Music Instigator.
