week 1 day 1
so today we started project 2 a Christmas carol with doing a monologue and on Wednesday we will audition for a part in the play i have chosen the part of the Jacob Marley for the audition i will need to do a monologue or say lines for the character then for the next two days i will be learning monologues and how to do them and i am not in tomorrow so i will be practicing at home or when i come in for my English and then
week 1 day 2
yesterday i was in college i was in the library practicing the monologues for the audition for a role on a Christmas carol as Jacob Marley scrooges’ old business partner who died 7 Christmases ago on Christmas eve then comes back and haunts scrooge telling him that he will be visited by 3 other sprits past, present and yet to come for my character i will need to use a vocal technique that i could speak like a ghost and i will have to rattle chains for effect in the performance i was practicing for Wednesdays audition i am going in at 10:50am and then i will wait to see if i have got the part of Jacob Marley i will be pleased or i get a different part in the performance i still will be happy any part but mostly i want Marley or any of the ghosts because i can play a ghost character so a few minutes ago i went for audition for Marley and i had to do a monologue we have been practicing for the past 2 days and i think that it went well and now i have to wait to find out to see if i have the part and then practicing the lines for that character when and if i get the character whenever that will be now i am just waiting to see if have got the part i wanted
week 1 day 3/week 2 day 1
today there will be a script put on teams and i wont know what i have got until after we comeback from half term when we properly start the project
week 2 day 1
so today we have been given our assignments brief and the script even though i didn’t get the part i wanted i have still a part in the play in the past section i play one of kids as they come home for Christmas and when scrooge is left at the school and is left there and then his sister comes and takes him home

once we got our scrip we did some research about the author and how poverty was in 1800 when Charles dickens wrote the book i have been practice my line in the play i mean it is only one line but like the saying goes better than nothing so i need to keep practicing my line until the day or should i say night of the performance even though i have one line in this performance like someone said to me for some reason i am feeling a bit stressed because i have exams while i am trying to practice my line and revise at the same time so my life is a little chaotic at the moment trying to do two things at the same time
week 2 day 3
today i am going to do some research about a Christmas carol and the author Charels dickens one of the versions that i have watched is 1999 a Christmas carol with Patrick Stewart and Richard e grant another version of a Christmas carol is 1992 Muppets Christmas carol starring Michael Caine
the 2009 version of a Christmas Carol had a lot of cast and crew
the photos are from the animated version A Christmas carol starring Jim Carey and Collin Firth and Gary Oldman directed by Robert Zemeckis in my opinon the best version of a Christmas carol to date there have been many versions of a Christmas carol some of them movies and made for tv movies and in tv series like in the looney tunes show season 2 episode 10 the plot of the episode is that the female version of bugs wants to revamp the town with a production of a Christmas carol. also in the new Scooby doo mysteries season 2 episode the episode is spilt into 2 parts the gang were starting a Christmas carol instead they perform the nutcracker but near the beginning they do a scene from a Christmas carol before the ghost of Christmas never appears and ruined the show it so it is up to scooby and the gang to stop the ghost and reveal the ghost as Nanette Musette was trying to get the Christmas nutcracker emerald
also they are many book versions and the movie versions some are directly similar and some are similar but in different in many ways like in some movies the movies never mention scrooge’s sister fan for example the Muppets version. some of the versions were inaccurate to the original source material

now that the exams are over, I can finally concentrate on the performance and rehearsing my line

So today we were practicing the opening scene for our version of a Christmas carol to get a better understanding of a Christmas carol i am currently watching some on Disney plus and i have to say they have given me inspiration for my character especially the 2009 version because i like any animated version with all star cast
week 2 day 4
so today we the level 2 group we have been doing a scene near the end of the show when scrooge meets the ghost of Christmas yet to come and the two scenes after that and i think that we did well but like Michael said we were only filling for those characters because most of the cast doesn’t come in on a Friday
week 3 day 1
with only 4 weeks till we perform we have started working on the props that we will need for the show the document that i am about to put on is all the props we will need

so today we have been going through scene 1 and currently scene 2 when Marley reveals himself i think what i have seen it is really good at the moment i have just received news that we won’t be doing the performance in the Delius Centre we will be doing it
week 3 day 3
since we aren’t in college today i am doing research at home on blocking and who uses it the meaning of blocking is when actors need it for movement on the stage it is the most important parts of rehearsals describes the location of the actors on stage it can help in developing/create a performance because when developing a performance, it is important that you know where you need to be
week 3 day 4
so on Friday we had Sarah we were doing the store room in b25 for our performance which we now know is in b25
when people enter and move on stage they will need to be in center stage and left and right and come closer to downstage left and right Centre stage all the people will use Centre stage Centre left and Centre right

week 4 day 1
so today we have done a scene in segment of the ghost of Christmas present with the Cratchit family this is the term we refer to as blocking where we do different scenes with the characters in that scene and some people played characters the people that are playing them weren’t in today so we had to improvise some of the actions
week 4 day 2/3/4
so these past 3 days we have been going through the piece we did a workshop on Shakespeare and today we are doing the production side of the performance i have been doing painting a coach and been stapling paper chains together

week 5 day 1
so today we were going over the last scene of the performance with only 1 more week to go to we perform we are rushing to get it done in time for next week i have to get my costume ready for next week
week 5 day 2/3/4 (last 3 days of performance week
these past 3 days we have been doing rehersals of the show

so we are buckling under the pressure to get the show finalized for next week we have to do some polishing of the scenes so we know our ques for when we come on and go off the lights have to be perfect the show has to be perfect for when our family members come to see it later that night to see it and the showing in the afternoon we have to come in costume and we will have make up on for the show we have a makeup trial next week a couple days before the show
on the Wednesday we have a dress run where we go through the show without stopping then once we have our makeup we are ready to do the show and i think we are all going to do very well
week 6 day 1 (PERFORMANCE WEEK)
so this is performance week and we still have a lot to do even though the performance is on Thursday when we have to perform it twice once in the afternoon and then in the evening to our family members I have my costume with me today and i will need it for the rest of the week apart from Friday for the next 3 days i will need to have my costume with me and need to learn my line and speak up when I say it and I think we need to work on timing and the dance bit for the ghost of Christmas past and opening dance number
week 6 days 2,3.4
this last bit is for the last 3 days of project 2
so these past couple of days we have been rehearsing and had full make up on and then we have been rehearsing the show and yesterday we perform it a couple of students and then we perform it front of our parents
