journey Project

(In this proposal I have changed artists because the previous artist researched didn’t give me much information on them and their work)

Artist research/transcriptions

natsukayui7272

These are my artist transcriptions and they were also my first time drawing foxes and I really enjoyed how the came out. But I think there could be some room for improvement.

The twitter/X illustrator natsukayui7272 is the artists I’m going to basing my work of through out the project and possibly doing a final piece relating to their work. they a digital illustrator that draws fantasies of having a fox as a pet. This is currently

Anna Reed

Anna Reed a nature oil painting artist. It says that she used precise brush strokes in her pieces of work. This original oil painting called ‘Felix’ which perfectly captures the foxes features

This is my artist transcription i really liked how it came out

Carl Whithead

This is Carl Whithead he observers farmyard and wildlife in close detail and this shown in his warm colour tones. His work shows small but fine details and warm, rich colours resulting in this oil painting having a homely feel to it.

Digital/normal drawing

This is a mix of digital art and still life drawing. I did this as a concept to show the difference between my normal and digital art. I like how the foxes came out in this and it looks like the fox is AR video game . What I could have done better is showing the right leg is a normal fox leg not a brown stump. I think that the fox is a very spiky and polygonal I think I could have improved on this by making it look like the fox has fur rather than spikes.

Charcoal drawing

This is a charcoal drawing that I did came out really well. I’ve even done variations of this work .

workshops

(originally this was supposed to be the darkroom work but i couldn’t handle the dark room light)

In this piece of work I have decided digitally layer my fox drawing on top of another piece of a piece of work. I ripped parts of news paper letter and images. I’m not sure what this process is called just yet but honestly I do like how it came out I reminds me of a front cover of a magazine.

This process first embroidery session i did and I worked the charcoal drawing but I photocopied it because the charcoal would’ve gone every if I tried to embroid. I layered masking tape on the bag to make the paper stronger and to not rip on me.

Embroidery

This is a another version for the fox in the box drawing on cloth in a wooden frame. I did a simplified version

. I was having a very hard time with the embroidery and kept making mistakes plus I didn’t finish this piece in time. Now looking back on it I think that the right eye was a bit to far up than the left eye but otherwise to that it looks good.

Print making workshop

During the process of this session I had to print with a dark blue coloured coloured ink first and orange since they both are complementary to each other so they stand out. But at the time when I choose both colours I didn’t realise that both colours were complementary it wasn’t intentional

This is the first printing blocking done and I not sure why most of the face for the fox was mostly white with a line but the print still looks good.

Development stage

  • At this stage i was playing around with the photoshop tools and using this as the base for the final piece.
  • This is the second stage of the development this is when i started to making the body of the second fox. In this i thought there should be a way to make the foxes less pointy and make is look like their furry.
  • In this development stage I accidentally found out that i could have used the ‘smudge tool’. so far I generally think everything is coming together so far but the only issue i have is the fox all the way on the right i think that it is chunky .
  • And also the reason why i did not give the fox in the middle any legs was because I was planning to out the fox in the snow
  • I think I could use the fox on the right for the past piece or the foxes parent or in the future piece as a ghost. But i will probably change my mind. My plan for the middle fox is for it to be a cub. I could possibly give it eyes.

  • In this fourth development piece I added tiny details to the cub and added eyelashes so i could match with the other foxes that i have done so far

What I’m planning to do for my final piece is to do a past, present and future version of my final piece. Because I want it to show the journey of ageing but using a foxes in my work

This is the past when the fox was born I’m going to changed the face because I don’t really like how it looks and I’m going to and a tail as-well to show that it’s a fox. And I’m also going to add another fox in this one as the mother.

This is the present time this should show that the fox is happy and playing in a field of flowers. I think I should add more flower and make the fox a bit thinner because it looks chunky and wide. But otherwise than that I really like how this came out its really beautiful and adorable.

Future final piece idea

What I’m thinking to do draw the fox as a ghost to show that it’s passed away but I’m going to first sketch this out of paper to give me a general idea of what I could do for the finale. But I have to a sketch of what it could look like

I’m think I’m going for a cartoon feel but then again this is a ruff sketch. I don’t think I’m going to add a fox lying on the floor because i think it might be inappropriate to exhibit

An idea for my final piece is to

Final pieces

In my final piece i did the journey of life using foxes in my work waht I really enjoyed about this was how my work turned out good and I liked how I did it. But I do agree that their should be some areas of improvement in my work

this is the past we’re the fox is born next to their mother I wanted it to show the beginning of life.

  • The positive about this is that i make the cubs face look better than how it was before and i like the snow that i’ve added
  • The negative about this work is that i could have made the mouth differently or i could have changes the size.

This is present time I drew the fox in a field of flowers enjoying themselves this is meant to show our current happiness in out life

  • by far this is my favourite one because i’ve made the fox proportions to my liking and added more flowers to show that this fox is in a field of flowers

And sadly this is the future this is meant to show our life ending and heading up to heaven.

this is another one I liked doing because it challenged me. I had a had time trying to combine a fox head and a ghost body.

The border is supposed to like clouds but it doesn’t really look like that.

  • The positives about this is that i liked how i used the gradient tool for the body for the ghost, the ears and the halo
  • The negatives about this piece is the boarder is supposed to look like clouds but instead they look like low quality rocks
