I was given the production role of front of house.
According to the Cambridge dictionary front of house is ‘ the part of a business such as restaurant or hotel were employees deal directly with the customers.’
This means that I will be greeting the audience , showing them were to go and serving teas and coffees.
We had our first production meeting, where we discussed what each group needed to do. Fit front of house we discussed possibilities of sweets and complimentary treats for everyone, we discussed the idea of providing the children with ear defenders, which I don’t know how we would make that happen, we will have to discuss it more next meeting. We also discussed putting out seats and counting to see
The following week we had another meeting to see how much progress was being made. We made a list of how many people, that everyone was vring and to which show. In terms of front of house we have an idea of what food that we will be serving. Things like biscuits and cakes, teas, coffees and hot chocolate.
In tge end we ended up selling popcorn, sweets, buns, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. In my group we had a system were tamara and Martin made the teas and coffees whilst I took charge of taking people’s orders and dealing with prices. I think this system was best for us, at times it got over whelming because we didn’t have enough change. Apart from that it went really I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would of been and it was a success.
