For my initial assessment I just got on my kit and improved what to play beats and fills. I had to use my headphones near my phone mic because my amp isn’t working at the moment. I used techniques such as playing double kick , kick independence , hi hat foot and ghost notes.
I want to improve on my kick independence to make more complex bass rhythms to my beats , I also need to improve my double kick technique speed and control and try get my timing perfect and be able to improvise drums better. I can track these things by playing to a metronome and making sure it sounds clean at the bpm I’m at and then slowly raise it. as for the bass drum ill be playing more beats with more complex kick patterns in. The other 2 things I’m working on right now is dynamics and my rudiments. I can also track the rudiments to a metronome and making sure it sounds clean and the accents and ghost notes are the right volume too.
