This is the first ever recording of the idea for the song we were looking for a melody and nick was on piano we ended up using this in the finished product so this was a big push and it helped alot .
The first song I wrote for this project was for Maia .the idea for it started off as a nice chill acoustic song which delivers a feeling of overcoming something important I worked off that idea and thought of chords F,C,A minor and E major but it wasn’t quite giving the emotion or feeling I wanted, I tried to change up the strumming pattern and change the aggression of the strum throughout the song then it started to turn into something that had potential. After working on the strumming I still needed something with a bit more of a softer feeling so I messed around with the higher strings until I found that using the third fret on the B string twice on every chord for the chorus gives it the kind of emotion I was looking fortis also aloud me to make a longer chorus by doing the same thing on the third fret but on the high E string whilst cycling through the chords gives it a nicer sound. Now I had made a chorus and a idea to go off for the verses using chords relevant with the chords I used for the chorus.
the link is a recording of me on guitar with an condenser mic with the finished idea of the song and Maia went over it on vocals the effects ruin it and we are trying to find a way to produce it properly and make it sound like a well produced song

This is the thumbnail for our song baby I don’t know we are close now nearly finished it just some minor tweaks to make and it should be alright.
Thr Link above is a video of a performance where me and maia performed our original song to a audience this was new to us writing, recording and performing an original but in my opinion it went well the whole process of the song. Maia was a little nervous and let it show with her voice in the performance but it didn’t really impact the performance that much. I was nervous too but for some reason when I started playing and got through the first verse I started feeling really confident like the nerves weren’t even there .
The mistake that impacted the performance the most was starting of a little too slow that was and it just made the first verse really boring and no body really looked interestedbut after that I told maia we need to speed up a bit and all went well after that so I don’t have much complaints the audience looked more into the song maia looked more confident and so was I.
