I started my research by looking into Ren on Instagram to see how he promoted and how he keeps his following. I found that he mainly posts people reacting to his songs or his music videos.He posts photos of him with instruments or doing a gig.I then looked at Paul Wellers page I found that he posts lot more things relating to problems around the world at the time, other musicians and collaborations, new albums or tracks and updates and records of gigs.I see how this could keep a following and keeps people interested in a musicians socials and the music they are creating .
Ren has 1.6 million followers with 251 posts in his bio is the title of one of his songs “sick boi”on instagram. On Facebook he has 1 million followers. Ren is a pretty new artist with his first song “Freckled Angles” released in 2011. On Tic Tok he has 3.6 million and 31 million likes. in his bio he is promoting his new song Slaughter house. Ren does not have a Twitter.
Paul Weller has 157 thousand followers with 1953 posts in his bio it says “official instagram for Paul Weller. 66, the new album for Paul, available now’ On Facebook he has 585 thousand followers.Paul Weller is no stranger to music with his first song with his band the Jam released in 1977 ‘In The City’. Paul dosent use Tic Tok. On Twitter he has 189.2 followers with the same bio as instagram
Weller has more followers on Facebook than on any other platform.
