I feel the first song mercy went really well the guitar was tuned up amp settings was fine sound on the monitors was also good this time thankfully. This was a massive improvement from the last few rehearsals, from keeping in time and nailing the outro with is both things we struggled to do before the final performance.
I think the intro for zombie was fine for guitar it was in time and the volume was good for the song. As a band I feel the drummer was a little quick and bass was out of tune but other than that it went really well. the singers were fine the drummer sorted it out pretty early on.
I know on pretty fly for a white guy I could have been smoother with the slides and not making the guitar sound so blocky. I can easily improve this and use the techniques in many songs in the future. I heard the drummer hit the wrong drum once but it’s only once and this can easily be improved by a little more practice.
As a whole I feel the band put on a proper performance and have come pretty far from where we started at first we couldn’t keep in time we had a guitarist who couldn’t play and a drummer who couldn’t play the drummer over a short period of time the drummer picked it up and the guitarist quit
We could have made rehearsals more effective by being more confident and less distracted with other potential songs to play as a band. Overall I feel we made good use out of rehearsal times and the instruments provided.
The main aim for the project was to perform to a audience and rehearse in a band I feel I have completed this task the final performance and I think me and the band did really well and have made progress as musicians individually.
I learnt a lot from this project one thing being able to play in a band and to perform on a stage .This project has helped me in my guitar playing but also it has benefited me in many other ways like to play in front of people better yet to play a three song setlist on a stage in front of a lot of people ,this has improved my confidence as a musician and my ability to perform with a band.
We made a few changes to songs and parts in the song. First we changed the second song from suddenly I see because non of the band wanted to perform it and changed it for zombie by the cranberries we felt it fit more with what we wanted our band to be.
What I did have planned was a different solo for zombie I was going over ways to do it in my lessons on Wednesdays but it didn’t go to plan because I couldn’t make a solo [pav really didn’t like the original solo for zombie] This was in g major so I had to learn a new scale and I just couldn’t really do in time since it was late idea.
I would enjoy performing again it was really fun and I feel like I learnt a lot from it. I would want to do some more band work even if it’s not for the college or even with other students. I would do it different this time around. I would focus a lot more on the songs I need to learn instead of playing something else and spending more time on it .
