Christmas Gig

The first task we were given for project two was to perform a Christmas gig with at least one Christmas song with this we chose Run Rudolf Run by Chuck Berry, the chords are fairly normal chords with an occasional F9 that I had not seen before but it was not much a problem adapting to a new shape so it was fine. The only tricky bit in this song is the weird placement of the second F chords ands the fact that it starts on F at the start and then starts on C for the rest of the song which is a little strange.

We have had three practice sessions so far stupidly we have no video evidence but too late now. In the first session we hardly got any thing done, we spent a lot of time deciding the song and trying to get the whole band up to speed on the words and other instrumental parts, it took basically the full session to even make a start on the song. The hardest part for this gig for me will be singing in a microphone, this will be my first time doing it but I just need to make sure I am practicing and it should not be too much of challenge and hopefully a cool new experience that I can learn from and come out a better vocalist and a on stage performer.

I want to really challenge my self with this song as I am singing most of it I also want to improvise a solo. I feel this will be a nice test on my ability to quickly think of notes that will go nice together in the moment I like the fact that depending on my mood and feeling at that time reflects on the solo I make this really fascinated me and hopefully I don’t sound terrible.

In the second session it went smoother than last with more of the song getting covered even making it to the end on a few attempts which is great considering how we started, the last session made me feel like we were not gonna get any thing done at all. I know that we have still wasted alot of time and not enough effort getting put in from some members when it comes to learning instrumental parts
