research on screen Yorkshire

who is screen Yorkshire

screen Yorkshire is a British film company that filmed Gentleman Jack and other films in the Bradford/west Yorkshire area in England are one of the Bradford College sponsors for the performing arts course they come in and do 2 workshops

what do they do

like I have just said screen Yorkshire Go and scout locations for films and TV shows like Gentleman Jack they come to Bradford college to do workshops

why is this relevant

this is relevant due to it being in Leeds not far from Bradford it has been running since 2002 screen Yorkshire has worked on so many TV shows like All Creatures Great and Small, Peaky Blinders

context research

Peaky Blinders was set from 1919 to 1930 after World War 1 the main setting is Birmingham then it moves to London my character I’m playing Danny wizz bang suffers from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder he and Tommy were in the war the end of the first series they faked his death and he moved to London and quit the show

my research on my character
what living in 1919 to 1930 was like in England

so this morning we were looking at accents and how we can develop them for our piece I tried to do an Irish accent but looking back on today I think we are developing accents for the final piece that we will record later on in January

so today we were doing warmups for our vocals so we could do these accents so then we can develop them for our pieces from the TV show I am doing peaky blinders so I need to do a Birmingham accent because it is set in the city in England the term is called bruit

the question I asked was is peaky blinders are based on real events and this is what I found

Last week’s session with Screen Yorkshire

last Wednesday screen Yorkshire came in and led a workshop with us

my group doing our scene

my reflections on the workshop were great even though I did this last year around the same time well tomorrow we are going over to the TV studio to look at it last Monday we were doing emotions we were put into groups and we were given an emotion then on Tuesday we were doing accents and then we put them into our scenes it went well last week doing all the stuff I just said we are filming next week on Wednesday so we have a week and a bit to finish it all screen Yorkshire are coming in on the Wednesday again a casting director who is covering audition techniques

the TV studio the position of all the cameras

with one week till we film our pieces I think that it will go well

reflections on the week

these past weeks have been building up to this moment where we film it and it will go well there will be some mess-ups we will get through it and ace the project and hopefully get a good grade for this unit I am hoping to do well on this project

so today we went through PowerPoint and we played a game where there was an imaginary bomb and we had to through it across the room and when the countdown got to one whoever had the bomb was out of the game then after that we did a tutorial where we went through 3 powerpoints which were to do with bullying mental health and the first was to do with extremism and terrorism and radicalisation

well the filming is done, so yesterday we filmed our assessments overall the process went well

my make up for my piece

the photo above is my makeup for my piece I had to get a beard we were doing the scene from the first episode of the show Peakly Blnders where the characters Tommy, Freddy, Harry and Danny are in this scene overall the whole process went well the timing was better than it has been for a while cant wait for project 4+5
