Before the start of this song, Josh introduces the song with a heartfelt message about how his fans inspire him and that these performances couldn’t be possible without them. You can hear people yell “You do the same” or simply cheer. Now that the audience are engaged, he joins them in the crowd and makes them feel more involved. The song is very stripped down and intimate compared to their other songs due to its link to Josh’s childhood in a broken home and his battle with anxiety.
If you look at the faces of the people in the crowd you can see that Josh is very good at conveying his feelings through both the lyrics and the way he sings them, as they are just as emotional as he is. This is very clear because he starts to cry. This reiterates how very personal the song is to him.At the end he hugs an audience member to comfort her as she is also crying. Finally he encourages people in the audience to express themselves and immediately builds the atmosphere back up.
