Context

Context refers to the circumstances or information that surrounds a particular situation, event, or piece of writing.

When researching context, consider the setting, background, audience, and purpose.

This evidences your research into the history of piece, exploring areas such as finance, social thought, feelings, politics and the government /laws at the time.

Here are some tips for researching context:

1. Target audience: who is this project aimed at? Why would it matter to them? Who was the original inspiration/script/book etc. aimed at? Why would it matter to them?

2. explore language: Explore what tone/language the project is using. Is it modern, classical? What does this mean?

3. Research background information: Introduce relevant details or background information that helps the reader understand the project.

4. social issues: what social issues occurred during the era the script/book/topic/influence was created?

5. Political issues: what political issues occurred during the era the script/book/topic/influence was created?

6. Economic issues: what economic issues occurred during the era the script/book/topic/influence was created?
