NYJC and Milap proudly present their \u201cIndo-jazz club\u201d Celebrating their trail-blazing collaboration now in its 10th year! Join us at Kala Sangam!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All workshops will end in a sharing session at 4:30pm open to parents\/guardians<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALL<\/strong> instruments, including singers, are welcome \u2013 not just Indian, not just jazz!<\/strong> No instrument grades are required \u2013 but a basic ability (similar to grade 2-3) at entry level. Find out more<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meet and connect with other enthusiastic young musicians sharing your interests and celebrating your talents by joining this exciting collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn an exciting programme of Indian and jazz tunes by ear as well as collectively writing your own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The <\/strong>National Youth Jazz Collective<\/strong> specialises in bringing together young musicians (aged 8-18), keen to develop their creative skills and interests through small group improvisation and composition. Whether complete beginners or young professionals, our programme of regional and national projects develops their ability to play by ear, improvise, compose, arrange and band-lead through an inspirational and diverse programme of cross-genre, cross-cultural repertoire \u2013 introducing them to other young musicians of similar age and ability, within a nurturing and supportive environment. All NYJC activity is supported by online teaching & learning resources and bespoke programmes of Continuing Professional Development, designed to support the creative needs of the young musicians\u2019 teachers and music leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indo-Jazz Tutors<\/strong>: NYJC\u2019s multi-award winning Artistic Director Issie Barratt<\/strong><\/a> & senior tutor Kathy Dyson<\/strong><\/a> and Milap\u2019s Artist in Residence Kousic Sen<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
