This project was successful because I met the brief through proper research and how I applied said research into practical skills and technical decisions. An example of this is that our communication with an audience improved throughout. The goal was for people to feel connected though one common denominator. And although at the start i lacked the necessary confidence for effective communication i feel that this improved throughout which is not only good for music but every aspect of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of my main strengths of this project was my vocal control, I really enjoyed singing new songs and performing with new people, in new spaces, and improving my technical ability’s and I have improved in general control and vibrato however in my next projects I plan to improve at my use of dynamics in songs because quite often i find my singing to be dynamically flat. This is an issue in community music because as previously documented, lack of skill directly impacts audience enjoyment and retention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another area that contributed to the success of this project was how the rehearsal process was developed and refined over time. At the beginning, rehearsals were mainly focused on learning material, this also often lead to people getting distracted and rehersal time being wasted. As we all got a better understanding of the songs it was easyer to dedicate a solid amount of time to improving out setlist, by making refinements such as dynamics and timing. During our rehersal time i realised the importance of listening to the band, and altering how my performance was so we sounded more unified as a group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the overall success of the project. there are arias to be improved. One of witch was my initial hesitation on performing in new environments witch effected my confidence during early performances. although this improved overtime it shows the importance of adaptability in a community music settings and if i where to redo this project i would spend time rehersing in unfarmiliar settings and improving audiance communication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
