DAW:
Im going to use Logic Pro X as my main digital audio workstation. Im going to use this because its easily accessible to me and because its great for film and TV due to its precise control on automation, timing and layering witch are all essential for syncing music to picture. im going to use features such as track stack (to organise instrument groups), Automation (for dynamics, planning, and volume fade) as well as flex timing.
Instrument packs:
I recently downloaded spitfire audios BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover for realistic orchestral instruments without needing to pay for the full library. This sound pack has strings, bass, percussion and woodwinds which i hope to layer for a cinematic sound for the radio indent, simular to famous pieces ive heard in the past such as the StarWars sound track. I will need to consider adding pre delay to the instruments witch is an aria i have struggled with in the past so i will do reaserch on how to do this effectively.
Mixing techniques:
I plan to balance levels using channel EQ and Compression to make sure the music doesn’t end up clashing with dialogue or other sound effects. I will also use buses for reverb and delay with the aim to make all the instruments feel glued together and as if they are in the same space. Its important that during and after my production process that i use a mix of different speakers to make sure that it has a good final mix.
