learning procces

On my weekly guitar lesson i learnt about the scale in save tonight for the solo as well as the strumming progression this was helpful as i haven’t really had much experience with rhythm guitar and strumming in the past so it was hard getting used to it and i still didn’t do it perfectly in the final performance but i have improved a lot.

On the lead up to the final performance i also did a solo set in the school cafeteria of Good Riddance by Green Day and High and Dry by Radio Head witch also helped me with confidence because the main performance wasn’t my first time preforming at college as well as helping with my strumming because there both acoustic guitar songs.

When i practiced the songs at home i also sang them as well as playing guitar and this really helped me get a better understanding of the songs rhythm and flow to help me stay in time when preforming it as a band.

An aria that i could have done better on when practicing at home is playing to a backing track or metronome to help me stay at the right tempo, especially when i open songs such as save tonight and how you remind me. This has been an aria that i have always lacked on so on the next performance section of the course i need to pay a lot of attention to this.

At home i also thought about the type of sound that i want for each of the songs, i came to the conclusion that i would use electric guitar for all of the songs because on the second song i play lead and rhythm, the last song is distorted and the first one is all clean so i assumed it would be easier. I added no effects to the first song, i used distortion on the solo in save tonight and used distortion all the way through for How You Remind Me and was happy with how it sounded for the most part.
