We had a group discussion of how we wanted our camera angles and came up with all the angles.
At the beginning we said we would have the camera following Marian on a side head shot and then once Marian has finished walking it would pan out to a wide angle.
When Aunt Anne Walker says “you reminded me, Miss Marian…” there is a close up on Marian pouring the drinks.
When Aunt Anne walker then says “It’s exactly what I imagine she would have done…” The camera pans out to a wide angle.
Once Jeremy says “Y’ talking about Anne” it goes into over the shoulder shots of Jeremy and Aunt Anne Lister while they take turns in sharing the story. Up until Aunt Anne Walker says “Russia?” Then it pans out to a wide angle. Once Marian says her paragraph of speech starting with “It’s uncanny…” the camera should be a slow zoom into a head shot of Marian.
In the Tv show they have many different shots like in the beginning they have a wide shot with aunt Anne walkers back to it. They also switch between people who are speaking and people reacting.
Costumes- We just used our all blacks as we didn’t have the budget to go out and buy olden day costumes. However the tv show uses Olden day dresses for the women and olden day suits for the men and olden day hats.
Lighting- We just used the natural lighting of the tv studio. However in the show I think they used a stage light to light the room up I don’t think it was done with daylight or natural light.
Set- We used what we had available in the tv studio but in the tv show they Set it up as if they’re in a home with chairs, desks, lamps, drinks, wallpapered walls.
Props- we needed a book for Jeremy and a cup and brandy for Marian to pour. However we didn’t get the brandy as we can’t just bring brandy into college.
Where as their pops would have been a candle, a newspaper, a cup, brandy, lamp etc.
Marketing materials- They could use adverts to advertise it, social media, posters, billboards anything within their budget.
Sound design- We put a soft music behind it however in the show they only have sounds for Marian pouring the drink.
