9th October-10th October 2023.
Today in class with Sarah we practiced the performance by doing a full run, we do this so everyone knows what order the show is going to go and so everyone knows which scene is where and so nobody is panicking when we perform, wondering which scene goes where . We also do a full run so we know which parts need more work. We also added more onto our phone pieces which is more movement and a poem between Amber and Sophie.
With Jess we went over the dances to make sure we all knew them properly and spent time in our groups going over the ‘imagine’ dance and practiced more full runs, until we got it all perfect we do this to make sure it looks performable. I then taught some students the dance as they only joined recently so they didn’t know the dance which was quite challenging in the time we had to teach them it. After that we did a full run but without stopping any of it to make sure we all knew the running order and we all knew what to do which I think was quite successful.
It was challenging to remember the order and my lines and the dances. I overcame this by putting in the effort and time to remember them all and to go over it in my head so I know it by memory.
Next lesson and in future performances I would definitely have more focus than I did today as I was letting myself get distracted. I would do this because you need that focus in order for the whole class to be able to get everything done and perfected.
I am worried about getting everything right in the performance but I will keep practicing until it’s memorised.
