National News Story From The Sun And Guardian.

Sun

What is the story about?

The story is about a video of a boy called Quaden Bayles saying that he wants to kill himself after being bullied by some school girls for his dwarfism.

Where is the information from?

The Sun.

Is it editorial?

Yes it is editorial.

How is it presented?

It is presented with some information and pictures.

There has been some information from The Sun that talks about how Quaden and his family were trolled online because people thought he was an 18 year old actor and his mum staged the event.

Also some of this information has came from an NITV interview because I have watched the interview and there are some quotes from that interview that are on the website that I have found this information from. Video below.

The information came originally from a viral video of Quaden crying saying that he wants to kill himself and his mother Yarraka Bayles talking about the situation and tearing up saying that parents and teacher’s need to educate their children on bullying.

The Guardian

What is the story?

The story is about Quaden Bayles’s family getting death threats after his mum Yarraka Bayles released a video of her son crying in hopes to spread awareness for anti bullying.

Where is the information from?

The Guardian and a video that Quaden’s mum released to spread awareness which show’s Quaden crying saying that he wants to kill himself with his mum talking about the situation and how parents and teachers need to educate their children on bullying.

How is it presented?

It’s presented with lots of information and one picture.

When it comes to comparison between The Sun and The Guardian I have noticed whilst reading the article of Quaden Bayles from the Sun that they might give an over exaggeration and bias description of what happened for I have researched Quaden’s case like watch interviews and video’s. Like for example the title suggests that Quaden wanted to commit suicide however there is no mention that he was mentally willingly intent on committing suicide when his mum recorded him crying because he could have said that he wanted to kill himself just because he was upset.

Also the sun use words like Dehumanize to catch the viewer’s attention.

But when it comes to The Guardian they are very straightforward with there information for they don’t try to over exaggerate with what they try to explain. There was a lot more information then what I saw on The Sun. My one issue when it comes reading the article from The Guardian is that there is not enough imagery for I feel that having images can help get the viewers attention instantly.
