17th march
S. For todays practice we will run through the 3 songs we already have then were gonna start writing the 4th song which I already have an idea for the intro and we have an idea for a breakdown too.
M. The way we can measure this is by seeing how far we get though writing the new song. We will be recording it too so it’ll be easier to measure it and look back on it to make it better.
A. I think its very achievable to write a structure and a good idea on the 4th song however I don’t think it’ll get finished today as we normally write stuff then listen to it and we make changes at home and discuss them so next time we can play them together.
R. Its very relevant for us to write a 4th song as were writing 8 song set list and a 4 song ep. It is very important we write the songs because we need them for a set list after we finish college.
T. We have 1 and a half hours of practice for the next session which I think is easily enough time to write a structure of a song and then be able to build from it.
19th march
S. Today we want to finish the 4th song we wrote the structure and focused on writing the verse intro and bridge so today we will be writing the chorus and breakdown.
M. The way we can measure this is by looking at the recordings from last practice and comparing that to the new recordings. This will show the new parts of the song we write as well as how well we’re playing the rest of the song such as timing and the transitions and stuff
A. i think it’s achievable because all we have to do now is write a chorus breakdown and practice the song.
R. it’s relevant because we need to finish this song so we can start on the other songs to finish our set list.
T. I think we have 2nd half to practice which will be 1 and a half hours
23rd march
s- Today we will practice our songs and finish writing the 4th song specifically working on the chorus and breakdown. we will also be slightly changing the intro.
m- the way we can measure it is by recording the songs and the new one this will show that we have improved on playing the other song as well as show the new parts we have written compared to what we used to fill in the 4th song.
A- I think it’s achievable to write the chorus and breakdown for the song and be able to run through the song and practice it after we write.
R- the reason it is relevant is so we can have our songs for our set list and ep it’s important we don’t waste time while writing because we’re trying to do a lot this project. (8 songs 4 song ep)
24th march
s- On this session we want to practice our songs , change a chorus on one of the songs , and start writing our 5th song hopefully a intro verse and maybe chorus or a structure.
m- The way we will measure this is by recording the songs and compare the videos together of the old section and the new one which will show that we wrote something that fits it better , and if we record the 5th song we can listen back to it and think of how we want to change anything or add.
A- I think it’s achievable to do this we practice our songs every time at least once even though we focus most of the time on the writing. Rhys has a riff idea that he wants to use for an intro so we will probably be using that today and see where it goes.
R- The reason it is relevant for us to practice our songs and start writing a 5th is because we need it for our set list and ep but also were gonna be doing a pirate next week with our members outside of college so we need to know the songs have enough to bring to them as well as give tabs to our bassist. Our goal at pirate is to get vocals and bass over all the songs as well as making changes to the songs using our other members ideas and things like transitions and fills.
26th of march
s- today we will be focusing on the 4th and 5th song specifically on thinking of any changes we want to make to the songs and practice them.
m – it is measurable by us comparing recordings from last practice when we wrote them to the new ones which will sound a lot tighter and hopefully new changes.
A – i think it’s achievable because we’re just focusing on them 2 songs that were just playing through them and making changes
