project 3 rehearsals

This project had the worst rehearsals out of all projects we didn’t practice a lot and we didn’t record like any videos we only have 2.

1. What did you plan to achieve in this rehearsal?

Practice “just a girl” more since everyone was struggling for it a bit and start learning “what makes you beautiful” by one direction

2. What actually happened?

We went through the songs we still don’t have just a girl down but we got a good start on “what makes you beautiful”

3. What went well?

We now know both songs better and can run through them with mistakes so now the next step would be to try fix them and get them gig ready.

4. What challenges or problems did you face?

The main challenge for me this rehearsal was the timing and remembering the fills for just a girl , and the timing on the verse of “what makes your beautiful”

5. How did you try to solve these problems?

For what makes you beautiful I just kept a quarter note beat on my leg with my right hand so I can keep the kicks and snare in the right spot.

6. What did you learn from this rehearsal?

I learnt that I need to practice a lot more especially if were gonna play just a girl live.

7. What will you do differently or focus on next time?

I think we should’ve focused on sections and changed of songs instead of just playing them over and over until people are bored and decide to take a break.

This practice Eric came in and practiced with us and helped us try get the song together. I didn’t know the full song I was trying to remember where all the section changes are. To make the next practice better I need to learn the song and get the timing down too because sometimes I speed up slow down come in at the wrong time or even come mess up the fills.

I can achieve this by practicing the song at home to a metronome and learning each section then putting it together until I memorise the song.

1. What did you plan to achieve in this rehearsal?

This practice was to try learn just a girl

2. What actually happened?

We kept going through the song as just all trying to remember it and then Eric came in and helped us all try get through the song which went better but I had a lot of timing issues.

3. What went well?

At the end if the practice we pretty much all knew the song now and could go through it with some issues but it made it so we can now start trying to run through the song and just fix the timing on it.

4. What challenges or problems did you face?

My main challenges were timing and remembering the song It has a lot of sudden random changes in the structure that was hard for me to memorise.

5. How did you try to solve these problems?

I just kept going and tying to remember it and if other people took a break id just do it by myself to try remember it.

6. What did you learn from this rehearsal?

If we all kept putting in a bit of effort like we did for that rehearsal we could have a decent set.

7. What will you do differently or focus on next time?

Too much wasting time and not practicing I think next time id try to get others to play the songs more.
