The start of this project me and Bradley decided to work together and he already had a guitar idea that he wanted to turn into a full song , we decided to go for the genre of rock and that the song to have an intro. The intro took longer than it should have because we was going through loads of different ideas bu once we got that down the rest just fell in place. I had to work on my timing for the intro. We haven’t done it with vocals so I think if we did it again that would be the goal to finally finish the song.
The guitar changed a lot thanks for Pav and Lewis’s help. Pav spent a lot of time with Brad in the guitar lesson to help him with it. After we got to the ending of the song we decided to change the verse dynamics by hitting the drums quieter and palm muting.
Sukbier and Jaheim both ended up playing with us and I think Jaheim further helped me and Bradley communicate and understand what the other one wants. He helped u by translating what bradley was saying to numbers and bars to help me understand it easier.
I think this project went well the song isn’t fully finished because the lyrics but Bradley isn’t normally a vocalist/lyricist so it’s not really his fault. We learned how to communicate better everyday was a big difference and other than the first week each week had a lot of progress.
We recored the song today it went well still need to add bass and lyrics though. we had a few practices before hand and practiced the ending and just get used to playing again. We failed a few takes where we both had a few mistakes rather bradley messes up a chord one of us come in after the intro a slight bit early/late or me making a mistake , i went from second verse to chorus wayyy to early by accident a twice. Theres one mess up i hear on guitar in the second verse , i also i think i couldve done better dynamically. I crash the ride to on the chorus so its not just the same cymbal noise but the way the ride was setup made it more awkward to do that so i think i couldve done better there too but i shouldve set the kit up how i like it so thats another thing i gotta make sure to do but other than that im happy with it. I think we couldve worked harder to get lyrics/vocals rather that be losing time on practice for it or getting someone else to do it.
