What are video games?
Video games are games that are usually played on a computer of some sort and they can be single player or they can also be multiplayer. There are multiple different types of video game genres. For example they are games that use a shooting mechanic and put you with 100 other people and if you are the last standing you win. Then they are games that let you simulate driving and race which others. Some more examples of different gaming genres are horror, survival, first person shooter, role playing games and so much more.
why you may think video games cause violence.
You may think that video games are violent because of the statistics that say school shooting in America when up at the same time as the popularity in video games. Are you could say that people may try to copy what the in game character and do it in real life. You also could of seen it on the news for example fox news said that they did and they also told us the president at the time trump also said that that did and his child was being affected by it.
Why you might think video games do not cause violence.
uIn an article from the guardian in 2020 they say they did a study that proved that in fact video games do not cause violence and that in fact help to make people less violence. They got there data from 21,000 children from around the world not just from one place so that it is more accurate. The method they used to collect all of the data is named meta-analysis. You may also play games yourself and think you no more violent than if you didn’t play any games. There are also more examples for example gun violence in general went down at the same time as video games went up in popularity in America.
Examples of when they did cause violence.
uAn example of a time when where video games may of caused violence is when a murder played video games beforehand and he said that he used them to train his hand eye coordination. Another example is when people get angry when they lose the game and they they may over react and brake there keyboard or other accessory’s.
