This monologue was said by the character Ed who is Christopher\u2019s father. Ed Boone is a central character in <em>The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time<\/em> by Mark Haddon. Ed is portrayed as a hardworking, well-meaning, but flawed individual. He is a man who struggles to understand and connect with his son, Christopher, who has autism spectrum disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ed often tries his best to care for Christopher, but his patience and coping mechanisms are tested by the challenges that come with raising a child with such unique needs. His relationship with his son is complicated, as he sometimes reacts poorly under stress, which leads to misunderstandings.
