Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus is a 1993 fantasy-comedy film directed by Kenny Ortega. The story is set in Salem, Massachusetts, and follows a teenager named Max Dennison who, after moving to the town, inadvertently awakens three witches—Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson—who were executed in the 17th century. The witches, portrayed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, seek to regain their youth and power by stealing the souls of children.
To stop them, Max, his younger sister Dani, and their friend Allison team up to prevent the witches from completing their plan before dawn, when they will turn to dust. The film blends comedy, fantasy, and a bit of horror, and has become a cult classic, especially around Halloween. Its themes include friendship, bravery, and the importance of believing in oneself.
