Sakura

Sakura is a built in synth vst into FL Studio. You do have to pay for a license however I just use the free trial version and bounce everything to audio afterwards.

It is a string modelling synth, using 5 processes to emulate a somewhat realistic sound.

The first process is touch, where an impulse is generated. This is essentially the main transient of your sound and simulates the contact between the string and the device used to play it. It is generated and then shaped to simulate hammers, plucks, fingers, taps, picks, and scrapes.

The next process is the string vibration. This is the point where you have control over the damping, tension, positioning and other string properties via adjusting parameters in the synth. This is the stage which shapes the sound the most.

After that you then have the string interaction. Where the dual string system inside of sakura can be mixed, panned, enveloped, etc where desired in the sound.

Then you have the resonance. The sound excites an 8 resonator ‘body simulator’ where the sound is altered to model the shape, size, and material of the instrument.

Finally are the acoustics of the sound. This is simulated through algorithmic reverbs, delays, and chorus. This creates an extra atmosphere on top of the instrument and makes it sound like you’re playing it in a real life space.
