The focus of my project is to create a 4 to 5 song long ep, create the artwork, promote it, and finally distribute it onto major streaming platforms.
The style of music will either be drum and bass, bassline, or most likely a combination of the two. I have a long list of inspirations but some of them are: Hedex, Bou, Zero, Serum, and Gino.
Collaboration with others isn’t as important inside of this project as say a performance project, however, I will still be interacting with people in the song creation process as I will most likely create songs with vocals rather than instrumentals. In the distribution and promotion processes of this project there will definitely be communication with others. This means I will have to communicate with people but it isn’t as important of a skill for this project.
I think the main challenge will be the creative process – actually thinking of the ideas for songs. It isn’t as much of a challenge doing sound design and the actual production process compared to thinking of what I want my song to sound like. Another challenge will be the promotion side where I will have to use a variety of methods to promote and spread my music because this project isn’t just for myself.
As far as training and development is concerned, I have plenty of experience making this music already, however, listening to these songs and also watching videos of producers working always helps out.
There isn’t really a way to measure the progress of this project, I will be doing some track breakdowns which will just be screen recordings with me giving explanations of processes.
The whole process of this project is to create as many songs as possible and choose the best 4-5 to put out the highest quality songs, so when I have the best few songs I will go through them and fine-tune them to create the best possible product that I can.
This project perfectly sets up my goals in the music industry – releasing and promoting as an artist and that is why I chose it!
